Amendment of section 2
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
The Road Transport Act 1987 [Act 333], which is referred to as the “principal Act” in this Act, is amended in section 2—
(a)
in the definition of “road”, in paragraph (c), by substituting for the words “sections 41, 42, 43, 44, 45 and 45a,” the words
“sections 41, 42, 42a, 43, 44, 45, 45a, 48 and 65,”;
(b)
by inserting after the definition of “Dato Bandar”
the following definition:
‘ “declared area” means any registration area declared by the Minister to be a declared area under subsection 16(1d);’;
(c)
by inserting after the definition of “motor vehicle”
the following definition:
‘ “motor vehicle licence” means a motor vehicle licence granted under section 16 in any form;’;
(d)
in the definition of “driving licence”, by inserting after the words “under section 29” the words “in any form”;
(e)
in the definition of “vocational licence”, by inserting after the words “sections 56 and 57” the words “in any form”;
(f)
by inserting after the definition of “electric motor vehicle”
the following definition:
‘ “electronic message” has the meaning assigned to it in the Electronic Government Activities Act 2007
[Act 680];’; and
(g)
by inserting after the definition of “Highway Authority”
the following definition:
‘ “information processing system” has the meaning assigned to it in the Electronic Government Activities
Act 2007;’.
