Repeal and saving provisions

Section 135
(1)

The Protection of Wildlife Act 1972 [Act 76] (the

―repealed Act‖) is repealed.

(2)

All declarations of wildlife reserves and wildlife sanctuaries under the repealed Act shall continue to have effect as if they had been made under the provisions this Act.

(3)

The persons who were appointed under the repealed Act shall continue to be officers under this Act as if those persons had been appointed under section 4 of this Act.

(4)

All regulations, directions and orders made, licences, permits and special permits granted and records kept, under the repealed Act, shall continue to be in force and have effect as if they had been made, granted and kept under this Act.

(5)

All pending applications, approvals and decisions, on appeal or otherwise, relating to a licence, permit or special permit shall, on the commencement of this Act, be dealt with under this Act.

(6)

Any inquiry, trial and proceedings done, taken or commenced under the repealed Act immediately before the commencement of this

Act shall be continued or concluded under and in accordance with the provisions of the repealed Act.
