Section 53
(1)
The Court shall give reasonable notice to the person alleged to be mentally disordered and the applicant of the time and place fixed for the inquiry.

(2)
Where it appears to the Court that the person alleged to be mentally disordered is in such a state that personal service on him of the notice would be ineffectual, the Court may, for the purpose of bringing the person to the inquiry, direct that the service of the notice be made on the person having charge of him or on any adult person or the owner or occupier of the premises wherein the mentally disordered person lives.
