The liability of the Railway Department in respect of any loss, deterioration, misdelivery or detention of or damage to vehicles or articles of special value delivered for storage shall not exceed the limits prescribed in

rules 24 and 26 unless at the time of delivery to the Railway Department the value of the vehicle or articles of special value is declared and an additional charge paid in respect of the increased liability of two per cent per day or part of a day of the difference between the Railway Department’s liability and the declared value, subject to a minimum charge of ten ringgit.
(b)
The increased liability holds goods for the period for which the increased liability charge has been paid and such period will be endorsed on the relevant receipt by the authorised railway servant. If the vehicles or articles are not claimed and removed on the expiry of such period such articles or packages will thereafter be subject to the limitation of liability as provided in paragraph (a) of this rule.
(c)
In computing the percentage charges prescribed in paragraph (a) of this rule no exception is made for
Sundays.
