Section 31
Section 112 of the principal Act is amended—
of Road Transport (Amendment) Act 2026
(a)
in subsection (1), in paragraph (a), by substituting for the words “44, 45, 45a or 50” the words “42a, 44, 45,
45a, 50 or 108”; and
(b)
by inserting after subsection (3) the following subsection:
“(4) If any micromobility vehicle is detained under subsection (3), the police officer, road transport officer or traffic warden shall give notice in writing of such detention to the owner or the user of the micromobility vehicle and if the micromobility vehicle is not claimed by its owner or user within one month from the date of the detention, the police officer, road transport officer or traffic warden shall, on the written application of the Public Prosecutor, immediately refer to a Magistrate who shall make an order for the disposal of the micromobility vehicle.
(5)
Subject to subsection (4), the Magistrate shall make an order for the disposal of such micromobility vehicle and any proceeds from such disposal shall be forfeited to the revenue of the Federal Government.”.
