(2)
The guidelines or practice directions issued by the Registrar under this section shall be published in the Intellectual Property
Official Journal and shall be effective from the date as specified in the guidelines or practice directions.
(3)
Any person who is specified in the provisions of this Act shall comply with the guidelines and practice directions.
(4)
The Registrar may amend the whole or any part of any guidelines or practice directions issued under this section.

(5)
Subsections (2) and (3) shall apply in respect of any amendment of the guidelines or practice directions made under subsection (4).
(6)
Any person, applicant or registered proprietor who does not comply with any guidelines or practice directions issued by the Registrar, where such guidelines or practice directions are applicable to the person, applicant or registered proprietor—
(a)
is deemed to have failed to fulfil the requirements as required by the Registrar which renders the application as withdrawn, lapsed, refused, cancelled or any other status as determined by the Registrar; or
(b)
commits an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding ten thousand ringgit.
