Section 252

Where a case of death has happened on board any British or North Borneo ship arriving at any port in North Borneo, other than a ship to which section 690 of the Principal Act applies, the Port Officer shall inquire into the cause of the death, and shall make in the official log book an endorsement to the effect, either that the statement of the cause of death in the log is in his opinion true, or the contrary, according to the result of the inquiry.
