Section 276
(1)
The tonnage of a foreign ship belonging to a foreign country in respect of which an Order in Council has been made under section 84 of the Principal Act shall, for the purposes of this Ordinance, be the tonnage denoted in such ship’s certificate of registry or other national papers.
(2)
Where for any purpose of this Ordinance it is required to ascertain the tonnage of any foreign ship to which the provisions of subsection (1) do not apply, such tonnage shall be ascertained in accordance with the tonnage regulations of the Principal Act, as though such ship were a British ship requiring to be registered.
