Section 47
Seats may be reserved by first class passengers only for journeys in excess of thirty five kilometres on payment of a reservation fee of fifty sen per seat. No reservation is valid unless payment of the prescribed fee is paid and the receipt for it is obtained.
(b)
Ticket for the reserved seat shall be sold to the person producing and surrendering the appropriate reservation fee receipt and once the ticket is sold the Railway department cannot be held accountable in respect of such booking.
(c)
Ticket for the reserved seat must be purchased not later than 3 working hours before the departure of the train. However, should a train depart early in the morning, ticket should be purchased before 5.00 p.m. the previous day. Terms and conditions for the reservation of seats is written on the reservation fee receipt.
(d)
Ticket purchased and not used involve the forfeiture of 50% of the fare paid. Claim for refund of the unused ticket should be sent to the Traffic superintendent within one month of the date of the availability of the ticket.
