Duty to give information to persons detained

Section 78
The Medical Director of every psychiatric hospital shall take such steps as are reasonably practicable to ensure that every patient in the hospital and a relative of the patient, understand—
(a)
under which provision of this Act the patient is for the time being detained and the effect of the provision; and
(b)
what rights are available to the patient for him to apply for his discharge.
