Section 27

(1)

An Authority may appoint a committee for any such general or special purpose as in the opinion of the Authority would be better regulated and managed by means of a committee.

(2)

The number of the members of a committee appointed under this section and their term of office shall be such as may from time to time be fixed by the Authority.

(3)

A committee appointed under this section may include persons not being members of the Authority, who have been co-opted by the Authority and also additional members co-opted to the committee by the Authority:

Provided that at least two-thirds of the members of every committee, other than a divisional committee, appointed by an Authority shall be members of the Authority.

(4)

A person co-opted as an additional member of a committee shall have the same rights and powers in all respects as if he were a person appointed to be a member thereof.
