Section 140

(b)

The owner, master and engineer of any such ship shall, on demand give to such surveyor all such information and assistance within his power as he may require for the purpose of such returns.

(c)

Any such owner, master or engineer who, on being applied to for that purpose, wilfully refuses or neglects to give such information or assistance shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of five thousand dollars.

(2)

If any structural alteration is made in any passenger ship, the owner, agent, charterer and master shall, within twenty-four hours after the alteration is made or as soon thereafter as possible, report the same by letter to the Director, and, in default without reasonable excuse therefor, they shall be severally guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of five thousand dollars:

Provided that the due receipt of a report from any one of the foregoing shall satisfy the provisions of this subsection.
