Section 258

Where any Court has power under this Ordinance to make an order directing payment to be made of any seaman’s wages, fines or other sums of money, then, if the party so directed to pay the same is the master or owner of a ship, and the same is not paid at the time or in the manner prescribed in the order, the Court which made the order may, in addition to any other powers it may have for the purpose of compelling payment, direct the amount remaining unpaid to be levied by distress and sale of the ship, her tackle, furniture and apparel.
