Property left in Railway vehicles or at stations will be restored if recovered by the Railway Department on the application of the owner. If any such property be not claimed within three months after being so left, it will be considered as abandoned and be sold or otherwise disposed of by the Railway Department after due notice in at least one newspaper published in the State. Lost or unclaimed luggage is subject to a restoration fee of twenty five sen plus a charge of thirty sen per package per month or part of a month for storage after the first forty-eight hours. Any articles discovered to be perishable may be disposed of earlier to prevent its becoming valueless.
